Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate granular cell ameloblastoma, for this study 20 cases of ameloblastoma were used and histopathologic, immunohistochemical (p53 protein, proliferating cell nuclear antigen) , and electron microscopic examinatims were performed.
Attained result as follows.
1. Average age of granular cell ameloblastoma patients were 25 yr 6 month.
2. Granular cells were occurred at the center of the follicular type ameloblastoma as a result of sguamous metaplasia. But other case. it was arised in the plexiform type ameloblastoma and tumor cells were replased by granular cells.
3. The reaction of proliferatin cell nuclear antigen was revealed intensive reaction at the periphery of follicular ameloblastoma, but negative to minimal reaction was noted on granular cells.
4. In case of p53 protein, minimal positive reaction was noted on the tumor cells. But in granular cells, minunal positive to negative reaction was appeard.
5. In electron microscopic examination, electron dense materials were noted in side of the granules. And the shape of granules were various and encapsnlated by single membrane
